Decades of Slovak Tradition

Arteston is a brand owned by the Kroslak family company with more than 25 years of tradition in producing sofas for customers from all over Europe. This accumulated experience, craftsmanship and sophisticated design are now represented in Arteston’s own product line of sofas with distinctive adaptability, durable natural materials and a combination of attractive design and high-quality manufacturing procedures.

Family Company, World Quality

The company from Nitrianska Blatnica was founded in 1991 by František Krošlák. Due to conscientiousness, high customer demands and fair conditions for employees, it has since grown and developed into an established and accomplished business. Today, Arteston is a top tier furniture manufacturer with 230 employees and capable of producing of modern and reliable world-class sofas.

After years of gathering experience from our own metalworking, upholstery, pattern making and prototype development, the company is launching a new product line of its own. The ambition behind Arteston is to bring premium quality sofas made from first-class materials, with carefully selected cover materials and exceptional reliability – result of both our manufacturing experience and superb knowledge of a demanding foreign market.

“Krošlák is a family brand closely connected to our tradition. That is its corporate value, something we’ve built over 25 years and are quite proud of. Today, my son Samuel has decided to move the company one step further with the establishment of Arteston brand. It is to offer even local customers a combination of world-class quality and design, along with Slovak fondness for traditional craftsmanship.”

Private Development

Arteston sofas are created and manufactured in one place. Starting with design through fabrication of metal skeletons and components to upholstery, everything is taking place on the family company’s campus. The journey starts with the designer, who sends his work to the design workshop. This is where prototypes are created and exposed to a variety of tests, optimizations and bug fixes. Simultaneously, planning for design of the skeleton, functional elements and sewing patterns is underway, along with calculation of standards. The model goes into mass production when everything is done and ready.

State of the art Design

Arteston sofas are creations of the talented product designer Michal Riabič. Thanks to his experience from several areas, his solutions are not only functional but also aesthetically original. Michal is a seasoned professional who has worked as a graphic and product designer after studying Industrial and Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. He has won several awards, including the Czech Furniture of the Year or a nomination for a RED DOT design award.

These days, he is mainly concerned with product design, focusing particularly on timelessness and trends. As Michal describes his professional approach: *I mainly find inspiration in natural materials and traditional craftsmanship. I try to give a distinctive character to each Arteston Sofa and make it somehow unique. Usually, this is not only a matter of appearance, but also product-specific functionality.

“When designing sofas, we greatly benefit from the solid technical background and manufacturing know-how gained from long years of production for demanding Western European customers. Such knowledge allows us to fine-tune the comfort and design of our sofas.”

Honest Craft

Because we have our own pattern making, metalworking and upholstery workshops, we are completely in control of the manufacturing process. This way we can oversee the quality of manufacture from the semi-finished product to the finished sofa, and also develop prototypes, test existing models and continually bring new features and fresh appearance to our product range.

“We have all the prerequisites to bring effective and practical design to the living rooms of demanding customers across Europe. The combination of our know-how, principled approach to our employees and suppliers and cooperation with a first-class designer give Arteston a great starting position.”
